Our approach in assisting the Haitian people is to ask, "What matters to you?" not, "What's the matter with you?"

Haiti is a country of rich culture and beautiful people experiencing real devastation and a need for medical assistance. We welcome all healthcare providers interested in participating in a medical excursion.

 

Currently, our Medical Team Lead, Brooke Dudley, is an occupational therapist who specializes in helping people participate in the things they want and need to do in everyday life.  We express the vision of our work by asking, "What matters to you?" not, "What's the matter with you?" We would love to add  knowledgeable healthcare practitioners to the team who are interested in learning about a new culture, sharing their knowledge, and experiencing the Heart of Haiti.  If you have a medical specialty that you are willing to share, please contact us so we can match your skills with our needs. Prior to medical excursions, our leadership team works with community leaders to identify areas of need. We have relationships with orphanages and communities that help us identify those in need of medical attention. We work closely with Haitian nurses that can then do follow-up care as needed.  When the Medical Excursion takes place, our team focuses on teaching the people of Haiti the skills necessary for them to be successful after we leave. As a medical team, we prepare with orientation training prior to embarking on our journey.  Our goal is to show up with respect and love, and enjoy the beautiful, challenging, life-changing ride of a Haitian Medical Excursion.
